What makes it a Kerala horoscope
The foundations of Jyothisham are shared across India, but every region has its own way of drawing and reading a chart. Jathaka Vani follows the form Kerala families know.
- The South Indian square chart, with the twelve signs in fixed places from Medam to Meenam.
- Kolla Varsham and the Malayalam month, alongside the English date of birth.
- Malayalam star names such as Aswathy, Bharani and Karthika, with the Sanskrit names in brackets.
- Lahiri ayanamsa and Vimshottari dasa, with exact start and end dates for every period.
- Gulika, dasa balance at birth and panchangam, everything a Kerala astrologer expects to see.
- Summer time and war time corrections, applied automatically for older dates and births abroad.
Before you start
Birth time
Use the time on the birth certificate or hospital record. The lagna changes about every two hours, so even minutes matter.
Birthplace
Type the village or town. Small places in Kerala and cities abroad are in the list, with their time zones.
